Up for consideration today is a one of 3000 made !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! for 3,999 Euro + some shipping and tax, located in Germany. Seeing !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! about the 35K mile Jetta started getting the creaky A2 lust lubed up with some Royal Purple upstairs in the brain. This has always been my favorite iteration of all the MkII specials. I would take one over a G60 Ralleye Golf just because I love the clearance, along with the AWD. While I have always been lukewarm on this color, close to the one seen on many a 16V GTI in the US it seems to work on this car with the blacked out rims. Though less than 25 years old this one sneaks in being on the nhtsa exemption list. Bring it over and get plates. Easy peasy. Looks like it needs a gas door and that is about it. Go to your local boneyard and buy one for $10. Black one would be ideal.

Factory interior looks to be in pretty great shape, even the bolsters don't look too bad on the front seats. Also notice manual window winders. No crappy VW electric windows to figure out. And a manual crank sunroof as a bonus.
All in all I have seen alot worse A2's with 120K on the clock, and seeing a factory radio is refreshing.
All the factory bullbars are there, as will be the skid plate under the drivetrain. While not made for rock crawling, this thing will get you pretty far off the road for sure.
All in all you may be looking at around $7500 bucks to have it sitting high in your driveway if you live anywhere near a port. I would go Country for that.
Edit: All these images should have been higher res, I cannot figure out how to get them to render larger if someone can help me on that...it had the enlarge tags on it a minute ago

The want is huge.
And you're right, the power windows on MkII and MkIII VWs are absolutely horrendous. Plastic gears ftl!

I'm not so sure about the Country 'upgrades', but those German built mk2 Golfs are absolutely bulletproof. Especially when maintained properly, which this one seems to be. NP.

yeah looks like a good one. Only this worrying would be the syncro AWD and making sure that is up to snuff. Probably has enough in common with the Quantum Syncro to be ok on parts though

Ugh, so much want. I'd love to swap my semi-built 16v into one.

Getting them into the US is doable, but until the 25 years lapse, not worth it.
